There are reports this morning that TDs will soon vote on restoring the State Transitory Pension, a payment that used to be given to people who are too old to work, but too young to claim a pension.
Sinn Fein will table a motion in the Dáil to have the payment restored.
A spokesman for the party said that “So absolutely there is a very serious issue there with the mandatory retirement age and we know that in 2021 the retirement age is going to go up again to 67 and 68 again, so we are also calling for that to be pushed back.”
