Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys said the 2024 Budget would include a one-off one-off measure as well as “across-the-board increases”” in weekly welfare payments, reports RTE.
Speaking on RTÉ’s This Week programme, she said she was pushing hard to deliver a stronger package of support for families and put money back into people’s pockets.
These activities will focus on older people, people with disabilities, caregivers and working families.
Ms Humphreys said the final details had not yet been agreed and she was meeting Public Expenditure Minister Paschal Donohoe this afternoon for further discussions.
“It is no secret that the groups I am advocating for are older people, our carers, people with disabilities and working families,” she said, reports RTE.
