Grandpa sent to prison for stealing his date’s car, crashing it, and attacking two gardai




Following a fight, a grandpa stole his date’s car, crashed it, and then attacked two gardaí. He was sentenced to five years and three months in prison.

According to Breaking News, 52-year-old Jason Kennedy was sentenced for his involvement in the August 2022 theft of a till from an abandoned bakery shop at Jervis Shopping Centre.

Kennedy, whose address is Butlers Place, Benson Street, Dublin, entered a guilty plea to any charges related to the November 16, 2017, incident, which involved him stealing his date’s car after kicking and pushing her while she was on the ground, reports Breaking News.

The prosecutor, Oisin Clarke BL, was informed by Detective Garda Mark O’Neill that the two had only met a few times and had returned to Kennedy’s street following a trip to Supermacs when he attempted to take the key out of the ignition and asked to drive her car.

Following a battle over the car keys, Kennedy climbed on top of his victim and proceeded to push and pull her hair. After they got to the street, Kennedy kicked the woman while she was lying down, took the car keys, and drove off quickly, reports Breaking News.
