Great news for jobseekers: 400 new jobs on the way to Dublin

Bristol-Myers-Squibb

Great news on the job front today, as pharma company Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced the creation of 400 new jobs at a yet-to-be-built facility. An extra 1,000 jobs are expected to be created for the construction phase.

The new state of the art biologics building will stand on Cruiserath, Dublin.

The cost of the new facility has been estimated at $900m (€722m), and once it is fully operational in 2019, it will manufacture ‘biological medicines’.

The planned 30,000 sq. meter facility will house six 15,000 lt. bio-reactors, as well as a purification area, labs, and office space.

The news comes just months after the company announced the closure of another facility in the same area, with the loss of 160 jobs.

The Taoiseach has said that the news ‘represent a great boost for the Irish economy.’
