Good news for job seekers this afternoon, as Apple has announced an expansion of its Holyhill plant in Cork, creating the potential for up to 1,000 new jobs by mid-2017.
The company has already created 1,000 jobs here in Ireland over the last 12 months.
The Taoiseach met with Apple’s chief executive Tim Cook this morning. Mr. Kenny said that Apple’s expansion will bring a very welcome boost for the local economy.
According to IDA Ireland, Apple currently supports nearly 18,000 jobs across the country.
