A recent survey indicates that rents across the capital have now surpassed their peak prices from the darkly ominous days of the so-called Celtic Tiger, right before the house of cards came tumbling down.
In real figures, rents are now 3.9% higher than they were at their peak in 2007.
In the capital, rents are up by a whopping 9%, having risen from €1,251 to €1,364.
This latest upward trend has only one possible outcome down the line, and as the wheel of greed begins to turn, dark clouds gather above.
