Lawyers for Justice, Ireland have reported that they have received “several queries about Leisure Centres requiring people using the swimming pool to produce a Covid Pass to access changing room facilities.”
On their Telegram channel https://t.me/LawyersforJusticeIreland, the group gives details of the alleged degrading treatment.
“The wording of the Statutory Instrument has led to the somewhat irrational and illogical interpretation by Leisure Centres that a person cannot use the changing room facilities before and after a swim.”
“This has led to degrading treatment that is an affront to human dignity with some people even being asked to change at the side of the pool.”
“It has also meant children being required to attend changing room facilities themselves if their parent or adult care giver does not hold a Covid Pass.
Lawyers for Justice, Ireland have put together a campaign if the policy is not reversed. They say the next step is to lodge a case with the Data Protection Commissioner.
