Greene King, a company that owns a chain of pubs, will be rebranding a pub in Linlithgow, Scotland currently called “The Black Bitch”.

It is said the pub takes its name from the story of a black female dog that would swim across the loch in Linlithgow carrying food to her master, who sentenced her to death. There is also a statue of the dog in
the vicinity of the town. The dog was black in colour and was female. A female dog is called a bitch.

The pub landlords, Greene King, which has already changed the name of pubs called The Black Boy and The Black’s Head, argues the decision has been taken after a dialogue with the pub’s landlord Nick Mackenzie
reports GB News.

Thousands of locals have signed a petition against the name change to preserve their history and heritage, but Greene King landlords want the name to be more inclusive and will be changing the name to “The Black
Hound”.

During an interview on GBNews on Thursday, 23rd December, a representative of BLM was interviewed and expressed her outrage at the existing pub name, calling it racist.

When asked by the GBNEWS presenter if the BLM activist knew why the pub was called The Black Bitch, the BLM activist did not know why.
