A group of people in Indonesia have been punished for breaking the country’s Covid-19 restrictions after they were caught not wearing face masks.
According to Tribun News, the eight men were forced to dig the graves for victims after they were caught leaving their homes without a mask.
It is understood that the men who were split into groups of two were sent to a cemetery in Ngabetan village in East Java to dig the graves however they weren’t involved in any of the funeral services.
Speaking about the punishment Cerme district head Suyono, said that the men were given the sentence in order to act as a deterrent effect against violations.
He added that that the cemetery currently has three men to dig graves and he therefore thought that by sending the perpetrators that he would give them a break.
