Gunmen have massacred 11 people at a Russian recruitment facility, in yet another sign of the steady breakdown of law and order in Russia following the invasion of Ukraine.
The incident happened at a facility in the Russian city of Belgorod, near the Ukrainian border. Belgorod has been the target of bombardment by Ukrainian artillery in recent weeks. The city’s power has been knocked out more than once as a result of Ukraine’s pinpoint accuracy attacks.
The gunmen targeted people who had ‘volunteered’ for service with the Russian army.
In total, eleven people died and fifteen were injured during the attack.
