Gardai have launched an investigation following the discovery of a female with serious injuries in an Irish county.
The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was found unconscious on the N5 at Cloggernagh, Islandeady, Co. Mayo, early this morning.
She was rushed to Mayo University Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.
