Hair salons set to price-gouge loyal customers through a raft of new charges to ‘fix’ hairdos

A number of hair salons are set to price-gouge the most gullible among their customers through an array of new charges purportedly brought in to ‘fix’ hairdos gone awry during the pandemic.

Peter Mark, for example, will slap up to €60 extra on top of the normal fee to ‘repair’ dye jobs done at home.

And another Peter Mark-owned salon, Style Club, will be applying a €20 extra fee for highlights if the customer’s hair falls below the shoulder.

The most original and catch-all charge of the lot is a nature-challenging ‘colour extend charge,’ which will be duly applied if the ‘hair has grown by a certain amount.’ The fee here will be in the €45 – €60 range.

Customers who willfully choose to go into any of these salons might face bills of up to €200 for their post-lockdown hair refit, so caveat emptor.
