A number of rail and bus drivers have rallied government officials this weekend following a so-called Halloween from hell.
Reports of increased violent attacks, antisocial behaviour and even threats of rape have led their last straw for calling for a police service purely for public transport.
The drivers say that they’re within their rights to make such a request as Dublin Airport has its own policing service.
It comes after youths fired rockets, screamers and bangers into buses around the country.
The worst is said to have taken place in Cork where a female bus driver was threatened with rape by a gang of thugs.
