The renowned Star Wars and Indiana Jones actor has been seriously injured in a plane crash.
72-year-old Ford reported engine problems shortly after taking off in his vintage aircraft, a 1942 Ryan Aeronaitical ST3KR. He intended to return to Santa Monica airport but could not make it.
Instead, he was forced to glide the aircraft down, and ended up crash landing on a golf course. Some locals pulled him out of the wreckage, fearing an explosion that thankfully did not happen.
When paramedics arrived, Ford was said to be ‘alert’, and was taken to hospital. His injuries are reportedly serious, but is expected to make a full recovery.
