Irish Water registration deadline extended until the end of the year

If you still haven’t done your bit for the greater good of the country and registered with the company de rigueur, Irish Water, you can still do so without facing the wrath of your water masters. In fact, you have until the end of the year to toe the expected line.

Under new regulations, customers who register at any time during 2015 will have their bills “adjusted” to take into account their usage and allowances, even for those whose bills have already been duly issued.

The Commission for Energy regulation (CER) yesterday published a revised Water Charges Plan.

This new plan covers the period until the end of 2016, and reflects all the reduced charges introduced by the Government late last year, along with meter reading and testing fees of €17 and €100, respectively.

Under the new rules, the minimum payment for bills has also been decreased from €10 to €5.
