As Joe Biden made his way around the towns of Carlingford and Dundalk, County Louth, the Tanaiste Micheal Martin has been accused by social media users of being an “onlooking fan”, “an idiot”, “a moran” and a “hapless fool” licking up to Biden’s every move.
At times Martin looked very uneasy, especially when appearing to try and mix with locals on the street in Dundalk. He looked completely out of place.
In Carlingford, Martin looked as though he was about to ask Biden for his autograph never mind treating him as a politician.
“He looks absolutely pathetic”, quipped one social media user, while another said “this is pure paddywhackery.”
