He won’t miss his holiday: Martin says it just doesn’t make sense to boycott US St Patrick’s Day trip

The Tánaiste declared, “You have to engage,” adding that it would be absurd to skip the St. Patrick’s Day trip to Washington due to American support for Israel, reports Breaking News.

Ireland has not yet determined whether to support South Africa’s legal action against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, according to Tánaiste Micheál Martin.

Mr. Martin stated that the evaluation of South Africa’s legal case against Israel for allegedly committing genocide in the Gaza Strip was still pending, reports Breaking News.

Ireland does “not intend” to join South Africa’s lawsuit, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has previously said, adding that one should “be very careful” before accusing a Jewish state of genocide.

He said: “I would just think we need to be a little bit careful about using words like that unless we’re absolutely convinced that they’re the appropriate ones,” reports Breaking News.
