Health Minister says Covid-19 vaccine roll-out is going well despite supply issues




 

The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has said that Covid-19 vaccines are being deployed well.

Speaking to RTE News, Donnelly said the vaccination process is going well with 95% of all vaccines being deployed within the first week after they arrive.

However although the roll-out of vaccines is going well, the Minister for Health admitted that there are issues with supply.

Donnelly told RTE that the revision schedules by vaccine companies are proving to be frustrating not only in Ireland but across the EU.

The Health Minister did state that although the is continuing issues in terms of supply, the overall vaccine programme is having an effect as serial testing at nursing homes showed there is just 0.2% positivity rate.

Meanwhile there has been 95% reduction in cases amgonst hospital staff.
