A 32-yr-old carer has been fired for making a non-essential trip in Wales during the UK’s strict lockdown last April. Lilian Wyn Binyon, to avoid being stopped by police, wore her carer uniform when she was not on duty, according to the Metro.

However police pulled her over and found she was also driving with cocaine in her system. Ms Binyon later pleaded guilty to drug driving. She had previously been convicted for drug-driving on two different occasions.

But now, her employer, Social Care Wales and their fitness to practice panel have decided to fire Ms Binyon for her job as a domiciliary care worker.
The panel found that her actions amounted to serious misconduct and she was removed from the register.
