In horrific news today, gardai have confirmed that 14-yr-old Aodhán Ó Conchúir has died in hospital following an accidental collision at a football match on Saturday.
It’s understood that the teenager and another boy clashed heads during a match when he was playing for Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne.
The young boy sadly passed away in Cork University Hospital on Saturday night after being placed for three days in intensive care following the accident.
Tributes have been paid from every corner of the GAA community with one local saying “Aodhan was a very nice chap, great footballer and is from a lovely family. It’s very sad. RIP”.
