Police in the UK have sadly confirmed that they have the body of a newborn baby in a canal in London.
According to Sky News, the newborn was tragically found in the Grand Union Canal, near Old Oak Lane, in the English capital.
Police investigating the incident say they received a call shortly after 1:20pm on Sunday afternoon, however tragically the baby was sadly pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Officers involved in the case have appealed for the newborn’s mother to come forward and contact them as she may be in need of urgent medical assistance.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
