After a corpse was found this afternoon, the hunt for a missing Wexford adolescent has unfortunately come to an end, reports The Mirror.

The last sighting of 19-year-old Brandon Roche occurred early on Saturday, October 26. An extensive search was started right away after it was reported that he had gone into the water.

The RNLI, the Garda Water Unit, Slaney Search and Rescue, the Coast Guard, Civil Defence, Wexford K9 Search, and numerous aircraft have been working together with hundreds of local volunteers to search the water and beaches surrounding Wexford Quay for the last ten days, reports The Mirror.

With the tragic finding this afternoon, the search was formally halted by the authorities.

Roisin Bierney, a family member, started a GoFundMe page called Help Bring Brandon Home after Brandon vanished. The purpose of the fundraising was to help the nonprofit rescue groups that had put in countless hours throughout the search.

“First of all, we as Brandon’s family and friends wish to thank from the bottom of our hearts every single person that has helped out over the last few days,” Roisin said, expressing her sincere thanks. Members of the volunteer Rescue groups who have been with us since Sunday am deserve particular recognition.

“We are setting up this Go Fund Me primarily to support the people of these organisations who have given so freely of their time to help us find Brandon. We appreciate each and every one of you so much. Thank you,” reports The Mirror.
