Police in the UK have sadly confirmed that a six year old boy involved in a hit and run incident in Coventry, has sadly passed away in hospital this evening.
The heartbreaking news comes less than a few hours after the young boy’s two year old brother died following the incident which occurred on the Longsfellow Road, in the Stoke area of the city.
Police officers investigating the incident say the two young children were struck by a car understood to be a black Ford Focus at approximately 2pm this afternoon.
A 53 year old man and a 41 year old woman have since been arrested after their car was found abandoned a short time later.
A spokesperson for the West Midlands Police Service has said both individuals have been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
