As advised by numerous publications – people are advised to keep an eye on their elderly neighbours, relatives and friends. They’re also asked to ensure that all animals are well catered for, secure, safe, warm and safe.

A large number of people have voiced their outrage on social media this evening after a dog was tragically found dead in Tallaght last evening.

According to Dublin Live the little dog was found dead lying in the snow by a passer-by who happened to be in the area.

It is not known how the dog died, but it is presumed the dog’s death was caused by the freezing cold temperatures tonight.

In an image which was uploaded online the defenceless dog is seen lying dead in the snow.

The news of dog’s tragic death has once again prompted animal rescue centres to call on the public to look after their pets during the current cold snap.

Owners are being urged to bring their pets inside and provide adequate shelter as the current freezing temperatures are likely to cause hypothermia if they are left outside.
