Met Eireann says that a spell of warm and settled weather, with temperatures reaching 28C, will stay with us until the early part of next week.
From today on, weather conditions will be rather benign, with plenty of sunshine and little or no rain. Temperatures will rise steadily as the weekend goes on, peaking at around 27-28C on Sunday.
Early indications say that the heatwave (by Irish standards) will last until Monday-Tuesday, and while the current forecast is uncertain, Met Eireann says that more unsettled conditions are likely to arrive late next week.
