The Greater Dublin area, Wexford, West Cork, Kilkenny, South Tipperary and West Donegal are under particular pressure, with areas in several counties already under night-time restrictions, reports Breaking News.
Monday will be another dry, warm and sunny day, with highest temperatures of 24 to 29 degrees in Munster and Connacht and 20 to 24 degrees in Leinster and Ulster, in a light to moderate east to northeast breeze.
Met Éireann said the prolonged very warm or hot spell will continue for the week ahead, with temperatures widely reaching the mid to high 20s by day, warm and possibly tropical nights, and largely dry and sunny conditions, though there is an increased chance of showers and thunderstorms developing later in the week, reports Breaking News.
Tuesday will be mostly dry with widespread sunshine, though there is the chance of an isolated shower affecting the south later in the day.
Highest temperatures of 23 to 28 degrees are forecast, warmest in the west and a little cooler near the east coast in a mostly moderate easterly breeze, reports Breaking News.
Wednesday will be another dry and sunny day for most, however some heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms may develop, most likely affecting parts of the south and west.
Very warm or hot conditions are expected, with highest temperatures generally of 23 to 28 degrees, staying a little cooler near the east coast in a light to moderate easterly breeze, reports Breaking News.
