There’s been consternation on social media after it emerged that Tesco has cancelled its contract with a Chinese factory over a very disturbing note.
Tesco has cancelled its relationship with a Chinese factory after a child found a note saying ‘help us, forced to work against our will. Please help us and notify human rights organisation,”‘ written on a charity Christmas card.
The incident happened in Tooting, south London, in recent days. It is understood that a six-year-old child opened a Christmas card purportedly made at Zheijiang Yunguang Printing, a factory affiliated with the Tesco supply chain, and found the ominous note.
As it turned out, the printing facility is located less than six miles from a well-known prison, prompting concerns that the cards had been made by forced labour all along.
Tesco have now reportedly cut ties with Zheijiang Yunguang Printing over the incident.
