Helping those in their time of need: Peter McVerry trust initiates emergency protocol in order to provide shelter for Dublin’s homeless during storm Ophelia




One if the country’s leading homeless charities The Peter McVerry Trust has confirmed this morning that they will be providing shelter for Dublin’s homeless during storm Ophelia.

The charity who are said to bracing themselves for a busy day ahead confirmed that they will be initiating its emergency protocol in order to help those caught up in the adverse weather conditions.

In a brief statement the charity said it will open up a number of communal spaces across the city on Monday.

They say purposely set up centres at Richmond Street and Aungier Street will be open throughout the day in order to provide shelter for those sleeping rough.

Meanwhile staff at the homeless youth café on Berkeley Street, Dublin 7, have also confirmed they will be working extended hours in order to help those with no place to go.
