Emergency services nationwide have been given a helping hand when it cones to saving lives as Google have created a new software that picks up a persons location once they dial 999 or 112.
The new highly sophisticated software called Advanced Mobile Location (AML) has been purposely designed by the tech giant for emergency use only.
According to Google the new software which will be used by emergency services globally, can actively pickup the exact location of a distressed caller via their phone signal and surrounding WiFi towers once they ring for an emergency service.
Google say the software works by collecting signal data through a callers phone which then in turn finds the said persons location via GPS.
The software then sends an emergency SMS message to the emergency services dispatch centre with the distressed individuals location enclosed within the text.
It is thought the new software will help get emergency services to rural locations quicker without the need to ask a caller where exactly they are located.
