Here we go again! Irish Water put their foot down and want people to pay for so-called excessive water use

Irish households will face charges for excessive water use after Commission for Regulation of Utilities agreed Irish Water’s latest proposals.

Under the new proposals household ls who are found to be using more than their allocated allowance each year will have to spend extra.

The commission say the measures are being introduced to promote water conservation.

It is believed that households will be charged €1.85 for each 1,000 litres used on top of their annual allowance.

However the charges will allow customers to address possible leaks as the utility will give a 12 month waiting period before issuing a bill.
