Hero alert: Nurse Aoife McGivney nominated for bravery award after saving Dublin Bus driver’s life

Nurse Aoife McGivney was interviewed on last night’s Late Late show about her incredible bravery in helping to save a Dublin Bus driver’s life.

The young woman was making her way to work when the bus, that she almost missed and had to run to catch, started to sway in traffic.

Passengers soon realised that Martin, the bus driver, was unconscious and they were forced to try and get the bus to stop.

Pushing the driver’s leg off the accelerator and eventually disembarking him from the seat, Aoife started CPR and essentially saved his life.

After describing what happened and declaring Martin to be on the mend, Aoife gave a quick demonstration of CPR on last night’s Late Late Show.

The quick thinking nurse will be nominated for a bravery award. Well done Aoife!
