A bus driver is being called a hero after his quick thinking saved the lives of 20 school children.
The vehicle started to skid on black ice, but the driver was able to bring it to a safe stop because he had been prepared and was travelling at a low, suitable speed.
The incident happened in Cork outside the Minane Bridge at around 8am. The bus skidded on black ice and came to a rest side-on against a low bridge wall thanks to the driver’s skilled reactions and quick thinking.
There were no reported injuries.
