“He’s a control freak” – Major anger at Holohan’s on the warpath as he says antigen tests are NOT good enough for international travel

There have been mixed reactions to the Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan’s demands that the government does not use antigen tests for international travel even though it would get the aviation sector back up and running and get tourism working both ways.

People are saying that Holohan is a “control freak” and that he needs to be put in line.

Many people on social media feel like it’s beginning to look like they’re talking in riddles, and after today’s latest developments – they may be right.

The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan appeared before the Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications Networks facing questions on antigen tests as Ireland.

Many highly professional scientists say that antigen tests are conclusive and that they can detect covid easily and are sufficient for people to use for international travel, for example.

However, Holohan says different.

Holohan says that he’s unaware of any decent quality validation study that supports the use of such tests for aviation.

He was pushed on whether antigen tests should and could be used for international travel, to which he said that antigen tests are good for high risk environments like meat plants but not for international travel, citing that he wants people to be vaccinated to travel.

What do you think? Should non invasive antigen tests be used for international travel?
