There was good news for Castlebar residents this morning as the Taoiseach Enda Kenny revealed last night that construction has begun on SIRO’s 100% fibre-optic broadband network.
The super fast broadband that will offer quicker download and upload speeds will be operational this December.
The news that will excite many in the Mayo town and leave the rest of the country in envy was announced by Mr Kenny in Lough Lannagh Holiday Village, in association with Mayo County Council.
The Taoiseach also revealed the 100% fibre-optic broadband network will be rolled out in 50 towns nationwide during 2017.
The broadband is seen as major step in technology circles as the speeds on offer could see files as big as 1gb being downloaded in under a minute.
