RSA advise motorists to be extra vigilant this morning as heavy rainfall is expected in western parts




The Road Safety Authority are advising motorist’s to be extra vigilant this morning as adverse weather conditions are expected to hit the west of the country.

According to Met Eireann heavy rain is expected in most particularly the west of the country. The state forecaster have also issued Status Orange Rainfall warning for Co Kerry, with 100 mm of rain expected in mountainous areas.

Meanwhile a Status Yellow Rainfall warning is in effect for western parts of Galway, Mayo, Clare and Cork, as “30 to 50 mm of rain is expected today.

The RSA are advising motorists to drive at a reasonable speed and to make sure they leave enough braking distance between themselves an fellow motorists.
