A dangerous region of low pressure appears to be moving towards Ireland, meaning that the nation will likely experience severe winds and heavy rains once more next week, reports The Mirror.

With a few sunny periods and isolated rainstorms, the upcoming days are probably going to be moderate. However, based on the most recent weather projections, things should alter by the end of next week.

By next Thursday, severe rainfall is expected nationwide along with gusts of above 100 kph in certain areas, reports The Mirror.

There is a chance of “some bad weather” next week, which might terminate the present warm circumstances, according to Alan O’Reilly, the expert behind the well-known Carlow Weather social media account.

“Some nice boring weather the last few days and for another few days too, turning milder and a little showery from Sunday. The first real sign of a risk of some bad weather is a week away, with a risk of a low system this day next week but very uncertain yet,” he said, reports The Mirror.

He posted charts on social media that showed rainfall of up to 10 mm per hour in some areas of the nation around 6 a.m. that morning, along with peak gusts of over 100 kph on the east and southeast coast around 12 p.m. on Thursday.

In its most recent forecast, Met Éireann stated that wintry showers “cannot be ruled out” throughout the holiday season, hinting to the prospect of a white Christmas in certain areas this year, reports The Mirror.
