A male hiker in his 60s died while climbing Mweelrea mountain in west Mayo on Wednesday afternoon.
It is understood that the man collapsed and died shortly afterwards. A fellow climber contacted emergency services, who could only certify the man’s death.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
