The national forecaster has just issued a Status Orange wind warning for Cork as Storm Elsa approaches.
Wind speeds of between 65-80km/h are expected in the Cork area this afternoon and early evening.
The warning will kick in at 6pm and remain in place until 9pm.
Meanwhile, two other weather warnings are in effect now due to heavy rain and strong winds across the country.
