The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) asked the Government for a bailout to the tune of €18m, according to an article published by the Irish Mirror.
The embattled organization has liabilities exceeding €55m, yet, its former boss John Delaney walked away with a severance package of over 500k.
The FAI is now likely to be split into separate entities going forward as investigations continue into how the organization so grossly mismanaged its funding.
