It appears that the infamous ‘Hole in the wall gang’ need some Christmas shopping money – and they’re going about it the illegal way.
Gardai have launched an investigation after the attempted robbery of an ATM in Co. Louth overnight.
The incident happened in the village of Dunleer at around 3.30am.
A digger machine was used, but it’s believed the thieves could not dislodge the ATM but they did manage to make their getaway with a cash sum and a tracker device.
It’s understood that Bank of Ireland will determine when they can reopen with a decision to be made on Monday.
