Hollywood director Alan Parker has passed away aged 76.
Parker had a long career both in Hollywood and other cinema markets, but he’s perhaps best known in Ireland for directing The Commitments (1991) and Angela’s Ashes (1996).
He also directed well-known hits such as Midnight Express (1978), Fame (1980), and Angel Heart (1987).
Parker passed away today following a long illness.
