Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer has popped his head above the parapet again by making a declaration about whether or not the government should reintroduce restrictions again.
Covid cases have surged over recent days, especially since St Patrick’s Day but thankfully, as it stands, there is no sign of draconian restrictions coming back into force.
The CMO doesn’t believe that there will be a major surge and that case numbers should begin to settle down again at the beginning of April.
It’s understood that the government are contemplating a possible future version of NPHET that could advise them if cases rise substantially.
