Holohan says that the next two weeks will determine on whether we can ease restrictions, says he’s increasingly concerned

The Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan says that he is now increasingly concerned that the positive trends in the number of Covid-19 cases that we have seen over the past month have not continued.

The National Public Health Emergency Team (Nphet) has reported the death of 11 more people with the virus. This brings the total number of disease-related deaths in the republic to 1,995.

The Nphet also reported 366 more cases, bringing the total for the pandemic to 68,686 up until Tuesday evening.

Dr Holohan says that the next two weeks are critical in relation to whether we’ll be able to lift the restrictions from Level 5 in early December.
