Holohan: The Indian variant is a black cloud hanging over Ireland’s horizon

There’s now a total of 72 cases of the Indian variant of covid in Ireland in the past week compared to that of 41 last Friday.

The chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said that the Indian variant is now a black cloud on the horizon of Ireland.

He said that the Indian variant may have a major impact on the effectiveness of the vaccine, especially to those who have only taken one vaccine.

It’s understood that the majority of the Indian variant cases are in relation to travel.

It’s yet another blow to the Irish public who’ve done everything possible over the past 15 months to get rid of this pandemic. Holohan’s comments definitely threaten the public yet again.
