Home Sweet Home: Baby Zoe Ireland and her family finally return home after fund raising campaign

There was some great news announced earlier today as Zoe Ireland has arrived safely home in Tennessee.

Baby Zoe who was born in Ireland last October prematurely after a US-bound flight carrying her mother Jenny was diverted to Dublin, has now finally arrived home after a successful crowd funding campaign. The Drake family had been stranded in Ireland after health authorities deemed it unsafe for baby Zoe to travel on a commercial flight for an extended period of time.

The generous campaign was launched by a group of people who wished to help the family get home and they managed to raise the $67,000 (€62,000) to fund the much needed medical flight required. A delighted Jenny told WKRN TV in Nashville.: “Now that we are kind of to the end of it, we can call it what it really is, which is a blessing. It’s been a crazy, traumatic, wild blessing, but it has been a blessing.”

It is understood that baby Zoe and her family are now being cared for at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, with doctors making sure she is healthy enough to return home.
