After a brief respite in the weather, another winter storm is on a direct collision course with Ireland.
Storm Jonas, the savage blizzard that has punished the US eastern seaboard in recent days, is currently heading straight for us, and it’s expected to make landfall by Tuesday morning.
Long spells of heavy rain are expected throughout Tuesday and into the evening, with further spells of torrential rain on Wednesday.
Storm Jonas left New York, Washington, and many other areas paralyzed with heavy snow and subzero temperatures over the last few days. Thousands of flights were cancelled, and 21 people are known to have died due to storm-related accidents.
