One of Dublin’s well known homeless charities has issued a heartfelt plea as they revealed that they are seeing an increased number of children and elderly people arriving at food stands.

In a emotional post on Facebook the Feed Our Homeless charity said that the situation is getting worse by the day and the current homeless is completely unacceptable.

In the post Founder Chief Executive of Feed Our Homeless Tony Walsh said: “The current housing crisis is out of control and is continuing to get worse.

“Week in, week out our team have seen an increase in the numbers of families with children also elderly people standing in the cold and rain at the FOH food station.

“Children should not have to sit on the ground in the freezing cold with their parents eating their dinner simply because they do not have any cooking facilities or a place to call home.

“This is disgraceful and totally unacceptable.”

“Families should be able to sit at their own table with their children like normal families in their own home and have their dinner. Enough is enough, we need change.”
