Homeless figures reach a record high as a total of 10,305 people are living in an emergency accommodation




The homeless crisis has officially gotten worse as the number of people living in an emergency accommodation has reached a record high.

According to new figures published today, there are now currently 10,305 people living in an emergency accommodation across the country.

The latest figures which shows of an increase of 41 since March, also revealed that there are now 3,821 children living without a permanent home.

However to make matters worse the latest figures showed that a total of 37 children were made homeless in the last month.

Although the Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy has said the increase is only a slight increase, he has reiterated that every effort is being made by the Government to address the crisis.
