Homeless figures rise again as there are now over 3,700 children living in emergency accommodation




The number of people living in emergency accommodation has once again risen according to new figures published by the Department of Housing.

According to figures published this week there are currently 10,275 people living in emergency accommodation.

The figures which sees a 103 increase on the previous month shows that there is currently 3,778 children homeless across Ireland, whilst there is 6,497 adults without a permanent home.

Although the Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy says everything is being done to tackle the crisis, he reiterated that reducing numbers is proving to be a huge task.
