Homeless man and woman charged with alleged serious sexual assault of woman at Drimnagh Luas Stop




Gardaí sealed off an area around Drimnagh Luas stop for a number of hours following the alleged sexual assault of a woman at around 2am on the morning of 26th of January. Following the incident the woman was taken by Gardaí to a Sexual Assault Treatment Unit (SATU) to receive specialist treatment for her injuries.

Two people, a man aged in his 30s and a woman aged in her 40s have been charged in relation to the alleged assault.

The Independent has reported that Detectives are investigating if the victim of a the alleged assault was targeted by people known to her following a dispute.

The pair are in custody and will either be charged or released from custody pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

It’s understood that both people are homeless and free legal aid has been granted.
